DC Bald Eagle Nest Cam

Anonymous
I read somewhere earlier today that the two eggs were laid four days apart. So the second egg still has a few days until it's expected to hatch

Yesterday, the chat history disappeared for me---anyone else having this problem?

Poor eagle. Cold Potomac fish for dinner. We should plan a spa day or at least a nice salmon delivery?

This--I noticed that whomever is at the next right now is looking a bit more haggard/frazzled as compared to recent days.

Did you know their nests (called "aeries") are about 5 feet in diameter? It's hard to get that perspective from watching the camera.

She's eating the fish. This is traumatizing to watch. Poor fish!

There another camera that shows the nest from a few feet away.

Just wait until they catch someone's cat or dog. There's an eagle in our neighborhood that stalks my very small dog. This is nature. What do you think eagles eat?

When he/she was feeding the chick earlier, you could see cracks in the second egg. If I were that chick, I'd stay in the egg until the storm goes by!

Love watching, and yes, it is nature, but I admit to having to turn away when they started pecking at the eye of the still "breathing" fish.

Some how I think she knows she's being watched.

I switched my screen to the eagle cam to see if it's raining outside rather than get up and look out the window...it's officially time to get off my lazy butt.

I'm the "poor fish" poster. Exactly! I know all about the circle of life but damn that was a slow and torturous death!

Might just be how they look when wet.
