+1 Mom and MIL drive to vacation 7+ hours too. |
If 65 isn't elderly, then they shouldn't be collecting social security, be on medicare, or get the aged tax deduction. |
Good Lord people - just waiting to see if you all turn over your keys at 65 or 70. While there may be the occasional person of that age who is not safe, I would normally prefer to drive with them than with a 22 year old. Actually I believe they are much safer statistically than teen agers. It all depends on the individual - I have a 91 year old relative who is fine with day time driving ( and yes she has driven my teen age son). |
When's your 65th birthday? We'll be happy to make sure you get checked into a home for the elderly and inform. Perhaps euthanize you so you don't suffer in your old age. |
It IS elderly. The misconception is that every elderly person is a decrepit shell that needs to be put in a home. |
You are either missing or deliberately ignoring what people are saying. People age 65-70+ should have to take road tests or have a doctor sign off that they can continue to drive. Not just take away their keys. IF they can drive safely after passing those tests - great. |
I would suggest the same for teens and oeople in their early to mid twenties. Actualy, the 65-70 year olds are statistically less likely to cause accidents ( you can google it). |
People not oeople. |

I hear that some ben have the sex too! |
They're 70/mid 70s and both drive still. Neither one drives much at night, and both are pretty safe (no accidents, tickets, etc. for years and years). |
Age doesn't matter ability does. please take the keys from your parents before they kill someone in a crosswalk. |
Just FYI- my mom at upper 70s and driving said she can't see black cars anymore so please turn on your headlights! |
WHAT!!! Please take the keys! |
I agree. |
