I don't see that anywhere in this thread. All the accents people are talking about, the ones they don't like, are used widely by "caucasean" (your spelling) people. |
Agree about Boston Brahmin, but regular Boston accents, ugh. Like nails on a chalkboard. |
| I adore the musicality of Indian accents. Don't care for harsh Philadelphia or New England accents. |
I was going to say the same thing. |
You are just too funny! |

Love Southern and English.
Hate indian and australian. |

I like Minnesotan, Edinburgh Scots, posh southern, especially posh New Orleans which is something else, and Yorkshire.
Dislike: Brummey, Glaswegian, Texan, Northern Irish. Hate: Dutch and other misc. Europeans who speak with an American accent and slang rather than British. It grates. |
There is no such thing as "the Louisiana accent". There are lots of different Louisiana accents. There are even lots of different accents just in New Orleans. (And Dennis Quaid's accent in "The Big Easy" is fake fake fake. Because of the cocaine, apparently: http://www.nola.com/movies/index.ssf/2011/04/dennis_quaid_says_that_because.html) |
Well, you know, I sure am sorry, but I like my accent.
Love Scandinavian accents and assorted British ones though I don't know the names of them. i agree that educated Soutern accents are beautiful. i find Cali accents grating and lots of Asian accents hard to listen through. |
Do Californians or midwesterners even have accents? |
Yes, they do. |
I'm Australian and I can't tell the difference between Australian & New Zealanders' accents. Not liking the hate on here for Aussie accents!! I'm told at least once a week that my accent is "lovely" ... I guess they're just trying to make me feel better!

Hate English accents - on men sounds effeminate. Yuck.
Australian accents hurt my hears. Hate it. |
Everybody has an accent. |
