| I work at a small law firm, and between 1/3 and 1/2 of my salary is from the bonus most years. I hate the structure, but it allows them to have a bad year without letting anyone go. |
Exactly. And they aren't allowed to miss deadlines while they're away, so often have to work at night during the weekend. |
| I work in non-profit and our bonus structure is 5-20% based on level and performance. We get them every year before we shut down for December and the holidays. I'm very thankful for my job. |
| No, never. I'm in my fifth job. Annual performance bonuses are a different story |
I work PT for a very tiny company as the office manager. My boss gave me $2K and apparently it was the smallest one given. I was incredibly thankful

I work at a small company and we share profits at the end of the year. We'll over half of my income comes in December. I actually love it because I've structured my life to live off my base pay only. This year my bonus was 110k before taxes (my base is 90k). I've been paid like this for 7 years and ad my company has grown, so has my bonus. 7 years ago it was 30k. Having this huge chunk is great because it is like a forced savings and there is so much that I can do with it at once than it trickling in over the year, plus I'm forced to live without it |
| I work for a nonprofit, so, no. |
