Emmaline Rose ?

April is also ok. April Rose sounds funny but April Rosemary could work.

Dallas and Delta are really stripper names, sorry. And I have never said that on this forum before but if I met a woman named Dallas or Delta I would really cringe. Your other picks are nice.

If you met somebody with a "stripper name", you would cringe? That would be rude.

Okay, cringe mentally. Yes, it's rude. But I would still wonder what the hell her parents were thinking. It's like naming your kid Barbie or Bambi or Bunny. Just not really done these days.

It means trying too hard (and failing) to be "sophisticated," "unique/special," "stand-out-from-the-crowd." To me the "kreativ" names and spellings just aren't GENUINE. They just feel forced and overdone.

It is a real name though. I have never encountered it in real life but I've read it in stories from 100 years ago or so. For instance, in Frances Hodgeson Burnett's The Little Princess, I believe one of the main characters was named Emmeline.

Thanks for the input.

Honestly, DH and I aren't going for a particular style or message.

Just listing names we like. He had a client the other day with a granddaughter named Emmaline and he liked and told me and I liked it.

The other names save Nicole, Rose and April have no real significance for us.

I'm not due for another 6 weeks so got some time left.

OP, I think Emmaline Rose is beautiful. Nicole and April are pretty, too. Don't let DCUM get to you too much--if you have a name you and your husband love, go for it.

Alternate middle names are April and Nicole.
Last name starts with a C

You need to turn to a real naming website and forum. Lots of sincere insight there. Name berry, baby name wizard, and there's anorther forum, forgot the name...

If you both like it you got a winner!!

There is both a Gidget and a Bridget in my daughter's (8-kid) daycare classroom so don't be so sure Bridget is unusual....

Don't love any of your choices - they feel very mid-1970s trendy to me (except Emmaline which sounds like you are trying to hard to make an overly popular name different and classy). I actually like Emma a lot even though it is pretty popular. Of your choices, I like Rose and Nicole relatively more.

I hope so. I never imagined choosing a name would be so hard.

Honestly we aren't too concerned about being unique. Maybe we should be.
We can't use Nicole and Rose together as that was my sister's name. Just want to use one or the other, giving her the same name would be too much for me.

Thanks!

I agree with this PP's suggestion and think it would be beautiful. Not a fan of April.

They were probably thinking that they liked the name.

There were 522 baby girl Dallases in 2014 (rank #580), so evidently it is done these days. (There were also 1,359 baby boy Dallases in 2014 (rank #268).)

It's Ermengarde, I think.

There would probably not be a lot of love for Ermengarde on DCUM, if somebody posted asking about it.

Darn, I think you're right. I read it elsewhere then.

OP, how about Ermengarde?

I'm sorry about your sister. It's nice that you are finding a way to honor her.
