Turkish People Boo moment of Silence for Paris, Chant Allah Akbar

Um, given they are often targets of Isis sure. It does not mean they are pro the west, sympathetic when Isis attacks us,or anti terrorism against the west. Do you really think the number would be that low in Pakistan?

Look at USAToday, Time.com, and a plethora of other websites. Many politically neutral sites are reporting the same information that was in The Daily Mail.

Not the OP, but I think what she is trying to highlight is how common the pro-Jihadist, anti-western sentiment is among Muslims.

What is happening in a stadium full of Turks is not reflective of anyone other than the Turks in that stadium. There are 1.4 billion Muslims in the world. Surprisingly, they don't all think the same.

Yes, we know they don't all think the same, but many people find it shocking and unsettling that there are that many people in Turkey ( or anywhere) that hold such views. Especially when Turkey is perceived to be a somewhat more moderate Muslim country

It would only be shocking to those who haven't been following developments in Turkey. The Turks have been supporting the Jihadist groups. The current government is Islamist. Kurds have a big presence in France and have been demonstrating against Turkey. At any rate, feel free to criticize the Turks all you want. It just doesn't have anything to do with the refugees who are fleeing the Jihadists, not supporting them.

Jeff, there's tons of people booing and shouting in that video. You're starting to sound defensive and ridiculous. Many people are aware of the developments in Turkey and still find it surprising and unsettling that THAT MANY people at a Turkish soccer match, which presumably would represent a cross section of the population, would react in the manner that they did.

I think there is a real lack of awareness of the amount of Jihadi support there is among US allies. Turkey, the Gulf Arabs, Israel, even General Petraeus have supported or encouraged support for Jihadis in Syria. Almost all the US weapons that have been supplied have fallen into Jihadi hands. It is just in the past few days that ISIS has made its way to the top of people's agendas. Everyone has been so focused on getting rid of Assad. Even among Turks who oppose ISIS, there must be a bit of a feeling that the West created this problem and is now simply feeling the consequences. I am really not surprised if not many Turks have a lot of sympathy for the French.

Muslima wrote:The fans were chanting “?ehitler ölmez vatan bölünmez” (translated from Turkish): "Martyrs live forever, the country is never divided". Furthermore, Turkish soccer fans ALWAYS whistle to show their support. This is misleading and furthering division. Someone yelled "muslims suck" during a moment of silence for Paris before the Lions vs. Packers game on Sunday, you can find bigots everywhere

What is a Martyr in Turkey? is it a religious concept or something from Turkish culture?

what does it mean Martyrs live forever, are they praising Martyrs?

welcome back Muslima, in times like this we need the Muslim side

The booing and chanting is overwhelming. I don't know what conclusion to draw from it, but it is dishonest to compare it in anyway to the lone idiot shouting at last weekend's Packers game (which was universally condemned here in the U.S.)

Gotta love the religion of peace.

Yeah, Christianity has a dismal record. But some Christians are okay.

Very strange that people are taking the behavior of soccer hooligans as a microcosm that faithfully reflects the macrocosm of an entire country. By that standard, the UK is the most hateful country in the world.

Anti-western pro-jihad attitudes are wide spread among our Muslim allies in Turkey. But rejected by 100% of Syrians. Got it.

Pew research shows the vast majority of middle eastern muslims favor imposition of Sharia Law. But of course, this wouldn't apply the that bastion of secular liberalism that is Syria.

You are lying. They yelled "Isis sucks."

The video of the incident is on the Facebook page NFL memes. It is very clear.

You are another dishonest person with zero credibility.
