Ha! I'm over 50 and just got a pair. The great thing about getting old (and having survived serious, terrible things) is that you don't give a sh*t what anyone thinks. I dress for ME.

I'm 38 and I have a pair of Pea in the Pod maternity jeans that are ripped and I love that I can dress them down (go to my son's baseball game) or dress them up (high heels and statement bag). I think they are very trendy right now and it depends on how you wear them. I don't think there are hard and fast rules -- well, except that jean short pockets shouldn't stick out of the bottom of shorts that are way too short!
