No. They are just more 'white'. But for the 'w' parents, that means "better". |
Fixed for you. |
BCC is a great school! It has an IB program. Your kids will get a great education there. |
Agreed, except I'd put Blair Magnet above RM IB |
You have had too much kool aid, all those schools are fine, the people who live near whitman send their kids their because they don't want to have their kids go to school with the black kids who attend b-cc. wj was the worst school in the county for many many years, it only had one place to go and it has become average at best. |
Definitely, no school in the DC area can touch Blair Magnet. |
They are very similar, but the high school for achecy Chase is BCC. Most people don't use the public schools though in the very expensive areas. Bethesda has Whitman and Walter Johnson for public high schools (also some BCC), and they are considered better than BCC. |
Speak for yourself. We are in Chevy Chase MD and bought into the BCC area because we preferred it to the other "close-in" options. |
Your list has a glaring omission--Wootton is better than all, with the possible exception of outlier magnet programs |
So did we. I can walk to the metro and be downtown to work much quicker than most of the people posting about high schools in far out MoCo. And with that extra half hour each way I save on my commute, I can actually spend time with my kids. |
Ugh, this is a mess. It's going to make OP throw her hands up and just look in VA. OP, I dont' think most people that live in Bethesda or CC are this crazy arguing about small differences between lots of great schools.
I find the distinction very confusing. Maryland doesn't really have real towns, so the borders are always blurred. I will say that I realized when house hunting that there are two distinct areas referred to as CC. There is CC village, which is generally very expensive and close to downtown Bethesda, but the other side of CT ave. Then there is another area called CC, or sometimes something like CC View or something confusing, that is more north and closer to the beltway. Basically, just look at maps, if location is important to you. The town names are really confusing. |
I hear this all the time, but that's not correct, at least for WJ. According to MCPS, BCC is 56.3% white, and WJ is 55.9% white. |
+1, you don't know what you're talking about if it isn't even on your list. The W's are best, remember? |
It's like a d--k measuring contest, but for schools. |
Well, Walter Johnson was always the foster kid in the 'W' family. |
