U.S. Army discharging decorated Green Beret after fight with Afghan commander

Sure. Agree w the draw down but not with flushing put a hero for bogus reasons. Sometimes the ones who are kept are the ones who never stuck their encks out. Want them defending to after the next crisis that is bound to happen? Thats who the system rewards when its 'Drawing down' and the price is paid later. You need a mixed bag, including guys like this, to defend America.

One thing I do know . . . this Green Beret is a hero. I would be so proud if he were my son. He epitomizes what is great about America.

So write your Congressmen and your Senators, all! You're all aware part of the problem is our men and women have to 'show respect for their culture and traditions' right? So that means we have to tolerate their raping children on OUR bases? I think NOT!

Does anyone else find the title od the thread above this somewhat ironic in light of this conversation?

Sorry, the title was "boys raped repeatedly" ( which pretty much sums up the situation in some circles in Afghanistan). Just to be clear.

The latest: The boy was chained to a bed and raped for days. The Green Berets were the mothers 'last hope'. The police officer laughed and faked his injuries. Nothing has ever happened to the police officer, while the Green Beret ( who joined after 9/11 inspired by Pat Tillman) is being forced out.

Go figure.

stop it stop it stop it. I'm sick and tired of you blaming this on "respecting their culture". It is utter BS. We are allies with bad people, and this is the outcome. They also put up with our raping and killing.

Excuse me? They also put up with our what??? Name.one incident in Iraq or Afghanistan where a military personnel went rogue and was not punished??? This police officer was NEVER punished for child rape..our green beret was. If you actually read the link, it says the locals were upset when the green berets were extracted and sent home. You have slandered our military. Name ONE incident where locals were forced to 'put up' with our rape and killing and it was not investigated / punished.

So some how killing boys vs raping boys is morally tolerable. The mission of the GB is different vs any other force. They have to work with the culture and people on the ground, many times these people are very bad actors. You are clueless if you think the only bad thing that happen in a war zones is raping of boys. If the GB does his mission, he will fuckup all those peoples lives for generations. Ask the Hmong.

Those aren't my words. Those are words of Obama and his administration to our troops.

The president was the one who came up with this 'sensitivity to the culture' bullshit.

So what you are saying is that Green Berets kill little boys. Deliberately. Am I hearing you correctly?

Guess you never heard of the U.S. raids in Wardak province between October 2012 and February 2013, for one.
