Why are people such turds? |
A girl in 3rd grade should not need a full bra. I hope you took her to the pediatrician because that is not normal. You need to cut out dairy and meat infested with hormones and antibiotics and make sure she is active and eating healthier. Premature puberty has a host of side effects as well as an increase in infertility and certain cancers. |
Wow. Why make that assumption? I wore a bra in 5th grade and I know of a kid who is going to 5th grade and has been wearing a bra since the beginning of 4th grade. Neither of us were even close to being overweight. You do understand that some girls, no matter their weight, develop early? Or were you just trying to be cruel to make yourself feel better... I think I know the answer. |
9 can be fourth grade also. |

I just stumbled on this thread and cracked me up a bit. I mean, I only have a son so I would not have the same issue as OP is facing but I was just amusing if I had daughter, this would be what happens in early teens.
Thanks for a good chuckle. On the other hand, I have no idea when boys start shaving..... (I come from only girls family...) |
Not ridiculous- some girls have early development. my 8 year old is almost ready for one. trust me i wish she wasn't. i don't want people to notice she's wearing one |
I am a pp with the 8 yo- who is not overweight. she has precocious puberty- so yes she's seen the ped, ped. endo and had many blood tests, ultrasounds, etc. Thanks for your pseudo concern |

| Girls between 8 & 10 are hitting puberty some 10yr olds already have periods. My daughter is 10 and she definatly needs to wear a bra and when three of her closest friends came round for sleep over they wore bras also. |
NP-Are you a pediatrician or an endocrinologist? My dd needed a bra when she was 9 and got her period when she was 10. She did not drink milk and we always bought organic. She was not overweight. We were assured by our pediatrician that she was well within the normal range. Why would you assume that a child developing earlier is fat, inactive and stuffed full of junk food by ignorant parents? |
Because PP is a clueless bitch. Simple as that. |
| After the entire Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner Fiasco our 6th grade son asked for a bra. He isn't sure if he wants to transition but he has some breast buds and feels uncomfortable about NEs and things like that. I took him to Lord & Taylor and he tried a few on in the teen dept. and even went as far as to use the girl's dressing room. I called his football coach and he seems to be supportive (no pun intended) of the situation. |
Many of them aren't actual 'bras.' They're more like cropped camis with elastic on the bottom. |
Kohls, marshalls. Maidenform as a girls line. |

I recommend the sports bras or half-tee (or even the sports camisole) from Dragonwing girlgear http://www.dragonwinggirl.com
Super comfortable and coverage for girls who are developing. My daughter wears her half-tee ALL THE TIME -- even under pajamas. A bit expensive but high quality. I've washed dozens and dozens of times and they still hold their shape. Cute too. |
