Have you known anyone who had shingles?

I had it in middle school during Christmas, on my back and butt. Itched horribly and I spent the entire time with my hand down my pants

I know of 3 people who have had it. They describe it is being just brutal. 1st a 45 yr old woman going through a divorce 2nd my great aunt at age 80 right after her husband of 62 years died. The 3rd was a 20 yr old childhood friend who was doing a very stressful job.

Had it at 29 at a particular stressful point in time (I am generally not susceptible to stress and didn't even feel emotion ally stressed but looking at it after the fact it was really bad).

Caught it super early and got drugs fast so it was quite mild. I woke up feeling like a horse had kicked me in my right side. Even mentioned it to DH because it was so odd, thought I might have to go to the doctor later in the day. I was concerned about a kidney issue.

Went to get in the shower and saw the splotches radiating from my spine to one side, lower back. Dr. Google told me flank pain + splotches was shingles. Was at urgent care within 2 hours and the doc didn't even take 2 seconds and knew it was shingles. Started anti virals within another 2 hours and it stopped the spread. The existing splotches took a couple weeks to go away, and thry were tender but not horrible. I actually had international work travel about 3 days late and was fine to travel.

3 people in their 30s and then some older people. The younger people were all in stressful grad programs.

DH had it at 34 and my mom just had it at 68.

I had it. I was in my early 30s. Was doing a ton of cross-country travel for work and I think I just got really run-down. It's not something I ever talk about, because really, why would I? I think my sister knows about it, that's it.

DH had it a couple years ago. Thankfully he caught it early and was able to get antiviral medication.

Two of my friends had it while we were undergrads (we are too old to have been vaccinated for chicken pox). One had a recurrence in her late 20s. My FIL had it in his 50s.

Had it at 21. I know a number if teens thst got it in the last three years.I also know several elderly people that got it..
and I'm their eyes. That was a bad deal. So here's my question. If I've already had shingles what will the shingles vaccine have any impact on me for furore prevention or is it now established and will happen again?

I am 26 and knew someone who had it 9 or 10 years ago, a classmate. East coast. That's the only one
