Maybe you could let a nickname come organically? For example, my brother is a Tom and his nickname was Bear or Bear-Bear. My nephew's name is Keith jr. but they call him "Chip" as in Chip off the old block ( not my taste but it works for them!) Or Ace if he is a good baseball player...you get the idea. Bash and Sea bash sound terrible IMHO
