So is this true? Are there 95 students in the class of 2019?

People can stop putting down UVA. Turns out it is a very good school.

I am certain that some of these kids have GPAs around 3.2 and are in at the very best schools.

Every year is different. 20 years ago they consistently placed 30 percent at ivies plus MIT Stanford
Now it's varies. I believe 2010 or 2011 had only 11 percent.

The girls from the class of 2013 who went to ivies all started at NCS before the over enrollment occurred in the 9 th grade
Not sure how it was a problem in terms of college admissions

NCS was worth every penny for us. Our DD got a great education that quite frankly over prepared her for college. She's in her second year and has already done undergraduate research and is a mentor for her field of study.

I echo the great school sentiment. However, there are a few families that will curl your hair. Too much money and too little sense. A couple of years ago NCS requested that families provide one address and phone number in the guide so we didn't need to know that they had a flat in Paris. Also, there are a few real estate agent and business types that will try and lob a business plan your way if they think you can help. Just smile and move past them.

But, I have been BLOWN AWAY by the teachers and curriculum of the NCS 4th grade teachers. With all due respect to Beauvoir, NCS raised the bar on every level... if your daughter has a problem with her homework, the teacher will meet her at 7:30 am which says a lot about the teacher that all the girls LOVE math, all of the girls have planners which they work with their teachers to plan their time management.

My DCs attend another top tier private. this is SOP

This is probably true, but college admissions is also very different now than it was 20 years ago. It's much more competitive these days to get into top schools due to variety of factors.

+1
This is a very common practice in independent schools and not exclusive to NCS. It's one of the benefits of attending one of these small schools. Teachers regularly make themselves available to students.

Where did they go instead?

Why are you reviving a year old thread?

Why in the world would anyone want to attend a high school with only 75-80 kids per class?

Yes, and how many are recruited athletes, and under represented minorities? Maybe those people can get in with a 3.2
Non sporty white girls without connections need more than 3.2
In my child's year only 3 girls got in without being in one of these special categories.
But it is still a good school. It does not create miracles though.
