| water, whole milk, organic decaf coffee, red raspberry leaf tea, and the occasional juice |
| La croix sparkly waters, water, and tea |
| I started making red raspberry leaf iced tea in my 3rd trimester, in the heat of summer, and it was DELICIOUS! Other than that, mostly water, one coffee a day. An occasional lemonade (only brands with sugar as the sweetener) but I would water it down to 50/50 lemonade and water just to cut down on the sugar content. Sometimes I'd put a dash of orange blossom water in it. |
| Club soda with a lime. If I wanted to take it up a notch, I added a splash of cranberry juice. |
| I found water flavors that have natural sweetener. One of them is Skinny Girl brand. (I know, but there weren't many options!) |
| Mostly water. But caffeine free coke was a great sometimes treat....and Seagrams Ginger ale |
Yes. I usually hate seltzer water, but I loved this stuff while pregnant. Add a splash of juice to any seltzer and it feels different. |
| Other than water (I mean, isn't that obvious?) coffee and tea. Not decaf. Also ice tea, lemonade, the occasional soda, and the occasional glass of wine. |
| So I guess, OP, are you avoiding caffeine because it's making you feel ill, or are you avoiding caffeine because you think it's bad? |
You can have 200 mg of caffeine a day...I drank milk, lots of decaf coffee and tea (and paid attention to how much caffeine was in the decaf stuff because it's not 100% caffeine-free), ginger ale when I felt nauseous, homemade lemonade, tonic water w/ lime, lemon Pellegrino, (but those last 4 only on occasion because they all have a lot of sugar, even the organic/"natural" kinds) Mostly I just drank water. |
Yes, OP, you' don't have to avoid caffeine completely! My OB (and a lot of literature/research I found on it) said it's perfectly fine to have caffeine while pregnant just limit the amount to no more than 200 mg a day. My SIL who lives in Sweden said they don't even recommend against caffeine at all there so I think the research is pretty inconclusive because Sweden typically is really health conscious and if they don't tell pregnant women to worry about caffeine consumption there, I think it must not be that bad. Also, I love that lemon Pellegrino! The lime one too. |
| Another vote for seltzer - all day every day. |

The same thing I drink when I'm not pregnant: 1-2 cups of coffee and lots of water, every day. I love food and have no desire to waste calories on beverages. Occasionally I will have a coke or ginger ale if my blood sugar is low, or juice if I'm really craving it, but it doesn't happen very often.
I usually drink my water room temp, but like others I have to have ice when I'm pregnant. |
+1 except I didn't drink alcohol while pregnant. But I still had my regular 1 cup of coffee per day and other than that mostly water, occasionally milk, occasionally orange juice, occasionally ginger ale if I felt queasy. Nothing special. |
| A cup of coffee a day, and decaf tea, orange juice, coconut water, and lots of regular water. I still occasionally drink diet sodas (smaller size ones so I don't go over 200 mg of caffeine a day though) and use Splenda though. |
