Never let the facts get in the way of a good argument. Also, while I am not inclined to look for the data, I would venture to gies that DC has or of the highest per capita law enforcement ratios anywhere in America: MPD, Metro Police, DC Library Police, DCHA Police, US Capitol Police, Uniformed Secret Service, Treasury Police, US Marshalls, FBI Police, Supreme Coirt Police, US Park Police, Amtrak Police, Navy Yard Police, Bolling AFB MPs, Executive and Legislative Branch Security details, etc. No surprise it took MPD only a few minutes to take the escapee into custody.

Excellent summary but you forgot to point out to PP that law abiding citizens of DC are NOW ALLOWED GUNS. There was a whole Supreme Court case about it. So he/she can toss that tired canard from his/her arsenal of arguments on this topic.

Try and get one. The permit is based on need, and is completely subjective. There are "rules" but those "rules" aren't really adhered to.

And of course that he robbed 12 banks all in Northern Virginia, and he was previously hiding out in Arlington.

Considering Fairfax County is one of the top protectors of illegals, I'm not surprised. It's easy to hide out here.

I already have one, thanks, because I live in Maryland. But this process does not appear to be completely subjective or based on need.

Uh, he was hiding at the home of his elderly father. That is where they arrested him. FAIL.
