Bwahaha. I've dealt with pretty crushing infertility and multiple rounds of IVF and I wouldn't for a second think of missing the party. Any event where your extended family gets together is so worth going to - it doesn't happen enough and the next time it happens it could be a funeral. Plus, infertility does have that tendency to take over your life when you are going through - so try to fight back. Plus, being a third child is a HUGE difference from primary or even secondary infertility. Really.

Well, you asked and it seems to be a rare DCUM consensus that the party is far more important. I agree. I'm not sure why you think it's so very important to be at the transfer; this will have no bearing on any relationship you have with your (hopefully) 3rd child.
