She was a repeat character. She was a child. It was pretty mean. |
What exactly do you remember? That people raised a big uproar about her going to a public school that was predominantly black. For having an opinion about nuclear arms. |
What do I remember? I remember that she was attacked about the State dinner and the book (and her parents were attacked for letting her come.) I remember that she was regularly mocked on SNL. Where were you? |
| I think that one of the reasons the Clintons were so adamant about keeping press away from Chelsea was because of the treatment of Amy Carter. Again, it was a national joke. |
By regular mocking, I suppose you mean the one skit, which didn't make fun of an actual characteristic of her. Is that "regularly"? |
And THAT is ok with you? She shouldn't have been a parody in ANY way. Would you like it if your children were criticized for the lousy job YOU are doing at work? |
Why do you think it was only one skit? Is it because that was all you could find on the internet? I was a young woman. It was a regular feature. Sorry I cannot provide proof to you, but it was a lot. |
And that's fine. But they also looked mighty snotty. And just because they are the President's kids, doesn't mean someone can't say "Wow, those are some bitchy faces!". |
What most moms would say to the Obama girls' critic: Leave those kids alone http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/wp/2014/11/30/nothing-classy-about-elizabeth-lautens-criticism-of-the-obama-girls/?tid=HP_more?tid=HP_more |
I think your memory is fading. |
I suspect you were not even born then. |
Yes, because they are kids, I think it means someone shouldn't make comments. The key word here being "kids." And by the way, they didn't look "mighty snotty." They looked momentarily bored. Considering how well they've behaved throughout their father's tenure, I think mature adults will agree they're allowed to look momentarily bored. |
| Seems like Republican staffers wouldn't have time for this kind of petty snarking at the president's children if they were working on an agenda of substance to help the country move forward. So much for legislative priorities. . . . |
| Rep. Fincher's aid who wrote this is resigning. No link yet but breaking news on TV. |
This. The only dress that my daughter owns that hits below the knee are the ones that I buy two sizes too big and then get altered. Most of her outfits look like tunics and leggings. I would have suggested tights/leggings for Sasha ... |
