The Bush girls wore denim to meet the Queen of England.

. The comments about Amy Carter focused on her views on nuclear arms, and the book incident. These two girls have been hounded at every turn.

You must be too young to remember. It was not all covered on Wikipedia. The press on Amy was brutal.

What an idiot.

Jesus says "Quit being a racist bitch and apologize."

The press does not follow the girls around like they did Amy. I think the press has been considerate. The girls were appearing publicly and did look bored. That goes with the territory.

pp. I might add that my daughter would have acted the same way--but I wouldn't be upset if someone noticed. The woman should not have written what she did, however.

Actually this was untrue. It was something a single columnist made up.

The Obama girls didn't like being a backdrop for a silly, childish event. If it were a serious world issue, my guess is, they would have been more engaged.

I thought their behavior was typical teenager. I can't stand Obama but I thought the girls rolling their eyes at his cheesy jokes was a nice reminder that, at the end of the day, he's a dad too. The published remarks were uncalled for and mean spirited. Personally, I thought their dresses were a little short, but I'm not their parent so its really none of my business what they wear.

Yes I agree.

Why were the girls required to be present for this press event? It was clear that they were uncomfortable and bored. I know my kids as teenagers would not have been happy campers at an event like this. I think criticizing them is a little over the top, but why did they even have to be there?

+1 I think both girls are great! They're lovely and intelligent, and they're outfits are not unusual at all for teens. I also thought their facial expressions were cute and totally normal for teens at a rather silly event.

Too short for a turkey pardoning??

It is wrong to pick on the girls but how many people made comments about the Bush twins? I feel like the Bush twins got a lot of shenanigans for their behavior and still do.

The Bush twins were adults.
