Anyone else NOT seen "Frozen"?

She's definitely been excluded from play at her school because of not seeing it and I feel a bit bad.

This is why I let my almost 4 year watch it. I fastforwarded the scary parts. She seems to like the characters and songs more than the movie itself anyway

You are a good mom.

I saw it last weekend, thought it was good, but I enjoyed Tangled better. I also don't understand why Elsa is so popular, she had a dull personality and doesn't even save the day.

Neither I, nor my husband, nor our 5 yo (nor our baby ) have seen it.

I have two kids and I've never seen it. My older one did see the movie.

I haven't seen it and my 4 year old just watched it this past weekend. We went to Disney on Ice a couple weeks ago and she knew the characters and some of the songs though. Go figure.

To the mom who was asking whether kids understand tv -- they definitely do by 3, because all their friends are talking about what they've seen on the playground, at daycare, at the playdate, etc. Soon they'll be wondering why their friends have seen something but they haven't.

3 and 6 here, hasn't see it. Our family def won't be one that goes around quoting movies or tv shows, nor think that is cool.
We did go to Disney World recently, still didn't bother to watch frozen....

I have an 18 month old and we've never seen it. Although at her gym I've heard songs from the movie enough to think I have seen it.

I don't get that either -- Anna's a much better character. I liked Brave more than Frozen. I have 10 & 11 yr olds and they did see it soon after it came out. They didn't particularly like it and find the "Let it Go" song annoying. But, DD has seen it a couple times because it's been shown at summer camps and friend's houses.

We love going to the movies and watching them at home but I certainly wouldn't have had a 2 yr old watch Frozen! Too long, too scary (like most Disney movies).

Have an almost 2 yr old, and have never seen it. My toddler doesn't sit through a 15 min program on Sprout, no way I'd even try a movie at this point.

I haven't seen it, though I've been meaning to. I tend to like Disney movies but haven't made time for it yet.

DD is 6 and saw it once at camp (special "late night"). She said she liked it, but she doesn't particularly want to see it again. A friend recently offered to let her borrow their DVD, but she passed. Not her thing.

BTW, she hasn't wanted to see Tangled or Brave, either. If she changes her mind, I'd love to watch both with her. But I'm not so motivated that I would see them on my own. (DH has absolutely no interest.)

If you're worried about your child "fitting in" socially with the other kids at preschool or daycare, you could always borrow some Frozen books from the library and read them together. DC was like this with the Cars movies a few years back. All the kids at school had seen the movies a bunch of times on DVD, but we hadn't introduced movies or DVDs yet and were in no rush to start. So we found a bunch of Cars easy reader" books and read them together. DC learned about all the characters and understood the plot lines, too. By that point, DC had picked up most of it anyway by listening to classmates, but the books made it all more concrete, and gave DC more confidence to jump right in when the other kids were "playing Cars."

Fast forward to now. DC is almost seven and still watches very little TV and movies only on very special occasions. But DC is right in the mix socially. Can keep up with whatever the other kids are talking about, even if we aren't watching it at home. There's not a lot of "but all the other kids are doing it" type of begging in our house yet, which is great. Let's hope it stays that way for awhile longer!!

I prescreened the Frozen DVD, which my mother bought for my son. I turned it off before the end...what a crap movie. I'm not against pop culture by any means, but I truly don't get the hype about this one.

I've never seen it either. But I have boys. I imagine some moms of girls haven't see Cars movie once let alone one.million.times. Sometimes gender generalizations are spot on.
