You put the 13 in side down into the sink and wash from the bottom of the pan to the middle (front and back), then you flip the pan over and put the other side into the sink and wash the other end of the pan to the middle. A 13" wide pan will easily fit into 17.5 x 16.5. You don't need the pan to lay flat in the bottom of the sink to wash it. |
LOL - so it doesn't fit. I could wash my sheet pans in my old split sink that way too, but when I wanted to soak it or stack it in there it didn't fit. Wouldn't fit in this one either. I'll stick with my big single. I have a sheet pan in there right now as a matter of fact.

That sink is UGLY! |
| This is the one I am getting http://www.build.com/kohler-k-5285/s867440 The lady at Ferguson showed me that "smart divide" double one... I don't get what makes it "smart." |
now we're talking! I'll whip up a few sheet cakes for everyone - since it's so easy to soak the pan in here.

Yes, I need to make some Pinterest inspired bday cakes! |

I'd only get a double if there was room enough for the single part to be a decent size. If you can have that, then it is nice to have the small second piece. Great for draining pasta because the colander rests on the rim.

| I like the deep farm sinks. I was told I could not replace our current sink since it is an undercount and taking it out might crack the counter top. ? |
| Undermount sink. |
