Can I please refer to the Hill as "CH"? Pretty please! Pretty please with sugar on top! I promise I'll start caring about Columbia Heights despite its increasing suburban-oriented commercial mix. OK? |
+1000. There's always a way to game the system. |
As one poster noted, DCPS has required a certain number of seats to be set aside for the purpose of programs like Head Start and Early Stages (as well as NCLB in past years). Principals were more or less free to fill unused spaces by enrolling children of teachers, and in some instances, attempting to increase SES diversity. Bear in mind that even the most highly sought after Hill schools were able to accommodate all IB three and four year olds until a couple of years ago. |
NP here. You can refer to the hill as Tulsa, but any time anyone says CH, I am also going to think you mean Columbia Heights (which is way longer to type than Hill). |
It seems pretty clear to me that CH refers to the Hill in the offending post. Not sure why some find it so confusing? |
Because there are posters in other threads that keep trying to make fetch, I mean CH=Cap Hill happen. |
Couldn't you FOIA this? Any emails or documents related to the placement of children in staff at schools outside of the annual lottery process. |
I think Capital Hill is already happening. Columbia Heights is too, but that whole commercial strip with Giant and Target and Ruby Tuesday and Best Buy is depressing. It looks like Anandale. |
You might see some blacked out pages due to privacy issues in four or five years, and only after filing suit. Why not speak with the principal about this pseudo concern? |
Do as you please. You are also free to think that Obama is not a US citizen and that Kraft singles are actually cheese. |
Back to the original question, has anyone gotten clear waitlist movement info from Stokes? |
That wasn't the original question. Why not call Stokes and if there is anything to report post it on DCUM? When exactly did we all become so lazy? |
I'm asking because I have called and have not gotten a clear answer, as have two other friends from the neighborhood who originally had good numbers in two different grades. |
I know two parents who got into K off the waitlist in recent days - mid 20s. |
Stokes? |
