Please show your calculations.

Not that poster. Our elementary school is definitely under-enrolled, but not by half.

Ours needed an addition and got one!

The school is beautiful, and it's the only ES fully stocked with Promethean Boards b/c we have such a solid PTA.

We're not in a W cluster either!

Affluent areas that are less affluent than even more affluent areas are still affluent areas.

what??

omg

Made sense to me.

I live in the Willows, and don't know a single family that spend their "summer in Europe, the Hamptons or the Vineyard." Ocean City, maybe.

College Gardens as rebuilt in 2006? And at the time we were told we were the first ES to be fully stocked with promethium boards. Since it is 8 years later, I don't think your info is correct or has anything to do with your PTA!

Willows resident. Just got back from 2 months in the South of France with several other neighborhood families and their kids. We are excited to get back to school next week.

Jesus. People don't have to be able to "summer" somewhere to be affluent.

Perhaps the poster who is convinced that Wootton is rich has just run into some of the cultures that really want her to believe that they are rich. The Chinese will buy a smaller house to be in a better school system. They don't care and just want to focus on academics.

The Indians also want a good school system but a big house is very important. Wootton has a lot of house poor families - big, new development McMansions sparsely furnished with tacky stuff. These are the groups that if they were wealthy would be living in Potomc being really, super flashy.

Wealthy areas have a mix of old and new money. Wootton has no old money people and a smaller group of people who desperate want you to think they are new money.

PP - your point probably could have been made without stereotyping - those tradeoffs in choices of housing and lifestyle could be - and are - made by families of any race/ethnicity....
