Hee hee.

(You did intend that as a joke, right?)

Not this poster. But I have to say she was right. Wootton area is not nearly as expensive as those areas she listed. Where do you live?

I live in a neighborhood where people think of the Wootton area as wealthy.

It's just relative to where you live. I'm originally from Silicon Valley and the whole DC area to me is inexpensive. Also, there are some homes in the Wootton cluster that are worth more than in the Churchill cluster.

Most of the Wootton families are summering at their beach homes or in Europe, or I am sure that many would be on here to defend their exclusive neighborhoods.

Probably won't be as crowded in the parking lots in future years, given that most of the ESs are half empty now.

There seem to be a few posters who insist on Wootton distrct's exclusive wealth. Wootton doesn't even compare with Whitman. It is at most upper middle class. I seriously doubt most of them spend all summer "summering" in Europe or their summer house.

I heard most of the Willows and several other neighborhoods summer in Europe, the Hamptons or the Vineyard. So there's that.

Granted, in comparison, Wooton areas can be less expensive than the places you listed...but it's far from being "very cheap" - it's still an expensive place to live compared to most other places and equally expensive in some neighborhoods for full price of home. You may get a bigger house and more land for the same price than Bethesda, but that doesn't mean the final price tag is low.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it bothers some people. Are they worried people are overlooking their own neighborhoods?

Are you kidding me!! Wootton is the land of Target shoppers and Great Wolf Lodge not Nantucket/Martha;s Vineyard or the Hamptons!!!

This is hilarious to me as quite a number of people give me from DC/Bethesda grief about living about living in North Potomac. Personally, I don't give a shit as I telework and less money for more house/land made sense but really come on people!

Affluent areas that are less affluent than even more affluent areas are still affluent areas.

Not that poster. Our elementary school is definitely under-enrolled, but not by half.

Affluent for sure. But it is the regular upper middle class type. Not the summering as a verb type. Of course, I don't live in this Willow neighborhood people keep talking about. But that is not typical of the whole Wootton area.
