Names that end in "-i" scream "BIMBO!"
Bambi, Lori, Toni, Lexi... it doesn't matter. |
Have you ever met an Alexandra who went by her full name? I worked with one for my first job eons ago. She really wanted people to use her full name, introduced herself as such, but the big bids decided she was Ali and refused to use all the syllables. Boss was a jerk but everyone else just followed along. Apparently the same thing happened to her at school but then she was Alex. Maybe now she's a Lexi still trying desperately to get someone to call her Alexandra. |
I work with two Alexandras. One goes by Alex and the other goes by Alexandra.
Lexi is ok for a little girl. A little too-cute for me but not terrible. When I hear it I hear Trixie. And I think of the Trixie Belden books. |
My name is Lexi...
This is extremely awkward for me |
More awkward than digging up and commenting on a thread from two years ago? |
I also know someone who named their daughter Lexie. I asked if it was short for Alexandra and they said no in a way that showed they didn't even know it was a nickname. |
+1 I like the name Alexis a lot. Lexi is fine too though (even as formal name). Not a fan of Alexandra (old and boring). |
Alexa is also nice |
I'm an Alexandra who goes by (successfully) Alexandra. I'm also an Alex, Al, Ali, depending on who you are talking to. I was also, for one month in high school, a Lexi. |
OP, how's your toddler daughter Lexi doing?

No but I'm a teacher and had a student with this name. She was very nice and nothing at all like a trashy stripper. It's probably why I like it. |
Lexi and her friends are just girls working their way through school, what's wrong with that? Want to buy her a drink in the champagne room? |
Sexy Lexi! |
