Seven-day Blastocyst Question

Anonymous
My 7-day blast is now one year old and is a perfectly normal and healthy girl. She was the only egg that made it all the way to biopsy out of 17 retrieved, 13 mature, and 10 fertilized. She had the highest grading and of course was screened with biopsy normal. I'm eternally grateful that our RE stayed the corse so we could bring her into this world to join her naturally (and easily) conceived 3 year old brother. I hope more clinics push on to day 7--there is so much they don't know. I was 37 when I did my cycle.

Thank you all for sharing your Day 7 success stories. I am 44 years old. Just got results of Day 6 frozen for biopsy. They are growing 1 more embryo to Day 7 to see if they can biopsy it. Then it's the two week wait to see if they are genetically OK I agree. I think the media and the technology is better today to push to Day 7. More in bit!

I just found out about the grade on my Day 6 frozen embryo 3CC. Nervous b/c that's average/ below average. Have read the PGS matters more than how the embryo looks.
Will keep you posted.

41 year old with a 2.5 year old from a 7 day blast. 2 were implanted but only my little girl stuck. She's potty trained, reads and speaks Spanish and English so she's doing pretty well so far.

Because they can't grow in the petri dish forever. After too long they degrade

I’d like to add the RE has very little experience transferring day 7 Embryos. He said they usually discard them. He warned this little embryo may not survive thaw. Can we say not very optimistic. Nonetheless we are transferring into our surrogate with an effort of not being attached to results. It’s in G-d’s hands now. All of these stories here give us hope and strength, thank you!! Again will reply back with outcome of this Day 7 5CC Embryo.
