Agree with all of this. I loved the first 2/3 of the book. The rest dragged for me.

I'll third this. I liked so many things about the book, but I felt it needed editing. I had to force myself to get through several sections and found some of the characters to be really unlikable. It was a solid 3/5 for me, but I know most people absolutely loved it.

Due to third trimester insomnia, I actually read four books last week: The Signature of all Things, A House in the Sky, Little Bee, and Orange is the New Black. Of those, I'd recommend A House in the Sky and Orange is the New Black, though both are memoirs by women who did very stupid, naive things and found themselves in trouble as a result.

I'm currently reading Going Clear, about Scientology, which is interesting but also kind of dry and detailed, which is perfect since it puts me to sleep after about 45 minutes!

Picked up Empty Mansions this weekend. Can't wait to read it - heard many good things about it.

Americanah by Ngozi Adiche. Truly enjoyable. It is about a Nigerian woman's perspective about the US through her immigrant experience. The author has a witty and wry way of observing American life.

Just finished "Empty Mansions". A really fascinating read. Currently in the middle of "Minding the Manor" and enjoying thus far. I would also recommend "The Worst Had Time".

Reading Game of Thrones. I'm on the second book. The writing is not stellar, but it is nice to finally not have my DH go "so, this is the backstory..." every time we watch a new episode

I thought it was well-written. What don't you like about his style? (Just curious).

I just finished The Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt, and have moved on to the Chet and Bernie mysteries by Spencer Quinn. Very fun whodunits about a P.I. and his dog. (The stories are told from the dog's POV - not children's lit, believe it or not; it's done with a lot of wit).

Operations Management: Processes & Supply Chains - Ugh, why did I think I should get my Masters?

Once my final is over I'm going to read Fall Of Giants. My husband just finished it and couldn't put it down. He is starting book 2 - Winter of the World.
