What are you reading right now?

I just began reading a biography of Hedy Lamarr, "Hedy's Folly." I have always wanted to learn more about her. She was a beautiful actress who was an inventor as a hobby. She invented a technique for frequency hopping that is the precursor for modern WiFi and other internet communications.

Just finished the new John Wayne bio by Scott Eyman.

Mad World: An Oral History of New Wave Artists and the Songs that Defined the 1980s.

Really good if you are a child of the 80s.

I am halfway through Sophie's Choice. It is engaging and expertly written. I'm so glad I finally got around to reading it.

Men, you are about to embark on a great crusade to stamp out runaway decency in the west. Now you men will only be risking your lives, whilst I will be risking an almost certain Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor!

OP here. I had never heard of Hedy Lamarr until the first time I watched Blazing Saddles and my mom had to explain the joke to me.

Assholes: A Theory

It's awesome. Very funny. But also strong analysis.

Dry, Augusten Burroughs

Howard's End, E.M. Forster

Enjoying both.

Well I read a review in People Magazine that the book, "The Hiltons" was a good read.

So I bought it brand-new the day it came out.

It was easy to read and very interesting...It tells you how the Hilton empire began and gives you some family history regarding those majestic Hiltons. Thankfully, there was minimal Paris info.

I do not think it lived up to the hype though.

Out of five stars, I would give it 3.5.

Another good read I just finished is "Sycamore Row" by the incomparable John Grisham.

If you are a die-hard Grisham fan such as I, this is his best work yet. He does not disappoint!!

No spoiler alerts, don't worry!! This story will captivate you from the onset, meaning once you read the first page you will not be able to put the darn thing down. Cancel any plans for the weekend because nothing can compare to the thrill this book will give you. It will keep you on edge until the surprise final ending.
