do you wear underwear for a massage?

Who about the abdomen - ticklish as hell so that would totally ruin the experience for me to have hands near/on the belly. When I think about massages, I assume it's the back and back of the limbs- what are they doing in the front though?

They will never touch breast/nipple. Rarely the stomach. When laying on your back they will massage your neck and as much chest maybe as a handspan's length. They do arms, legs, feet. Never stomach. This is for a classic swedish. There are other styles, but that is what I am referencing, the most common.

When you're on your stomach, they do full back, and roll the sheet down to cover you bottom, right above crack. Much tension is sometimes held in the buttocks, so taht is why some of them will massge there if you are OK with it - but never inappropriately or in a sexual way. They actually do your body in halves -- all of you is covrered with a sheet except what they are working on. So if they are working one leg, the other is covered. The uncovered leg is uncovered toe to butt cheek, or perhaps to thigh if that is your comfort level.

PP again. In the front, when you are on your back, they massage hair, face, neck, ears, shoulders arms, fingers, lthighs, egs, feet/reflexology...then work up the other half, then you flip and they cover same area while youre on your tummy.

gosh I am realizing I am overdue!!!

Wrong. I get massages regularly at places like the Four Seasons- never some shady place that would offer happy endings. They pretty much always say to take off as much as you feel comfortable. Technically, you should take it all off and a professional masseuse will use towels/blankets to keep you covered the whole time. I would never wear my underwear unless I had my period or something.

And I've never had my breasts massaged either. I don't think that's standard...

+1000. I love massages and get them whenever I can, most often at four seasons or ritz in dc. Always take it all off and it is never an issue. I could see wearing underwear if you are super modest or squeamish, but a bra would ruin the entire experience for me sine my back and shoulders are my favorite area for them to focus on.

I never wear anything for a massage. There's no reason to. The therapist will hold up a towel while you turn over, and none of your parts that require modesty will ever be exposed.

Even the most respectable places offer massages that are "intimate". A masseuse or masseur will not do so without some signal from the individual as to how far she/he should go. They will also tell you if anything they are doing makes you uncomfortable to let them know.

I usually get my massages from a couple of people who know me well and with whom I feel comfortable. They massage my breasts and even my inner groin. Nothing wrong with it.

When I am laying on my stomach I tell them not to drape me.

I would consider someone who left his/her underwear on during a massage as a total "hick." Absolutely wrong and absurd.

Gross. No! You remove all your clothes for a massage - we are not talking about prostitution here, PP! Ugh. Go back to your rock.

I am a PP that gets undressed fully for massages and my primary spa preference is Elizabeth Arden Red Door, which is a nice upscale spa.

They have many other treatments -- body scrubs, body melts/ heat wraps -- again I always fully undress for those as well. The only thing I dont fully undress for is a facial, I keep underwear on but it is more relaxing to sit under the table with just the wrap towel.

That said, for any treatment (including a bikini wax) there is an option for disposable underwear if you are very modest and want to cover your bikini area. It not only protects your privacy, but also the fabric of your underwear so it doesnt get oils, salt, etc. from any treatments.

I have occasionally especially when my breasts are being massaged.

I have never had a massage where they touched my breasts. That actually shocks me that they would do that. I do wear my underwear during a massage but not a bra.

What is so shocking about the breasts being touched? Such bizarre attitudes!

Really you're inner groin? Do you pay extra? What's the signal that you used?

Actually, it is the attitude that anything that is connected with nudity and certain parts of the human anatomy must have a sexual connotation. Who in their right mind would have a massage wearing a bra or panties? Why would touching the breasts as part of a massage be viewed as sexual?

It is these same attitudes that make some people uncomfortable with a mother breast feeding her baby in public or viewing it as immodest or even inappropriate.

eww

You are gross.

My masseuse would NEVER agree to that.

What? You can't get it from a real lover or spouse?
