I could've written this exact response. I did wear underwear the first few times I had massages but then I read an article about how it's perfectly acceptable to be totally naked for a massage and I've never worn undies since.

I suspect many on this thread are going to massage parlors that offer happy endings. Many massages and other than removing my bra for easier access to back and shoulders never asked to remove underpants.

I have never had a massage where they touched my breasts. That actually shocks me that they would do that. I do wear my underwear during a massage but not a bra.

Wrong. I get massages regularly at places like the Four Seasons- never some shady place that would offer happy endings. They pretty much always say to take off as much as you feel comfortable. Technically, you should take it all off and a professional masseuse will use towels/blankets to keep you covered the whole time. I would never wear my underwear unless I had my period or something.

And I've never had my breasts massaged either. I don't think that's standard...

No really, never. I started going commando to play volleyball years ago (spandex uniform), and realized it was pretty annoying and unnecessary the rest of the time too.

I never wear undewear during massages. Too restrictive in my opinion.


That said, if you are uncomrotable about a massage therapist getting into personal territory, in the beginning of the massage, when they ask are there any areas to avoid or things you should know, just say "Yes, please avoid massaging chest, and any area between upper thigh and lower back."

They won't see anything because you stay covered in that section, and even when you turn, they hold the sheet up so they can't see while you flip.

Ok - never had a massage before, though wanted one many times. In a regular massage at a good place -- are they touching the chest? Who about the abdomen - ticklish as hell so that would totally ruin the experience for me to have hands near/on the belly. When I think about massages, I assume it's the back and back of the limbs- what are they doing in the front though?

They will never touch breast/nipple. Rarely the stomach. When laying on your back they will massage your neck and as much chest maybe as a handspan's length. They do arms, legs, feet. Never stomach. This is for a classic swedish. There are other styles, but that is what I am referencing, the most common.

When you're on your stomach, they do full back, and roll the sheet down to cover you bottom, right above crack. Much tension is sometimes held in the buttocks, so taht is why some of them will massge there if you are OK with it - but never inappropriately or in a sexual way. They actually do your body in halves -- all of you is covrered with a sheet except what they are working on. So if they are working one leg, the other is covered. The uncovered leg is uncovered toe to butt cheek, or perhaps to thigh if that is your comfort level.
