How much do you spend on cars?

2013 Toyota Sienna Limited All Wheel Drive (family errand car)
2014 Ford F350 Platinum (Hubby commute car)
2013 Porsche Carrera 4S - date/fun car

Total sticker was about 225k altogether, paid in cash.

You are crazy. I've got higher HHI, 4 cars (2 kids driving), one of which is a Porsche Cayenne, and we paid about $140k for all 4. 3 new, one used, the new cars are 2012-2014.

I think it's a pretty big pick up truck. That is a stupid choice for commute unless your commute is short. Shitty gas mileage

He has to haul his kids lacrosse equipment. The sienna is for the nannies.[/quote

You have multiple nannies on $225k? You're an idiot.

Just surprised that someone with a 600k+ income drives a truck.

You'd be surprised at how many millionaires are tooling around in pickups. A huge number of millionaires in this country are blue collar business owners, farmers, ranchers, oil workers, you name it. Pickup trucks also last forever and hold their values. So many go easily 200K miles without issue. You either hold onto it forever long after payments are done or you trade it in and get a big chunk of its value back because they hold their value so well.

+1. Every rich guy I know owns a pickup truck. It's more common than owning a convertible.

I love cars. But they are a crappy use of money. I make sure I never spend more than the average cost of a new car. That's about $30,000 new right now.

Yes, agreed, but those aren't generally the type of wealthy people who live here- oil workers, ranchers, farmers, other blue collar people. I very strongly associate truck with blue collar.

Those trucks are ridiculous for city driving. I hope your husband is hauling trailers around the ranch.
