| Frightening. |
| The "holier than thou" attitude that many of you take without knowing anything about the people who post is quite frightening, in my opinion. Just because the PP is not cut from the usual radical liberal cloth that most on the school board and teachers unions are cut from doesn't mean they lack empathy for the Title 1 schools. I think they are simply saying that kids in the perceived wealthier neighborhoods shouldn't always have to take the lumps first and endure horribly large class sizes on the assumption that their parents can afford to constantly supplement their education with other enrichments-nor should they have to. |

| PP, I'm the poster you quoted. I'm savvy enough to know who posted the comments(or at least narrow it down to a small group of folks). I vehemently disagree with them, but don't feel the need to call them out publicly on what is supposed to be an anonymous board. |
But I assume it would be equally frightening, if not worse, to stop subsidizing the lower class sizes at poorer schools and move a few miles into a school system where the wealthier neighborhoods also have lower class sizes. Or is it only having an open dialogue that frightens you? |
Voice of reason: you'll need to exit this thread. Thanks. |
Is someone actually instructing another poster not to comment on an open forum? I'm not the PP, but I completely agree with him/her. IMO, the bolded is the voice of reason. |
No. It's called sarcasm. Which, admittedly, is hard to convey here. I agree with the bolded voice of reason too. |
Sorry! I realized it was sarcasm right after I posted. It's sometimes hard to read tone here online.
|
As the poster of the bolded passage, I don't mind if your temporary confusion led to repeated affirmations of agreement with what I'd written.
|
Oh, I see, reason is defined as the assertions made by someone who agrees with you. Got it.
|
How could you possibly know who is posting out of 180,000 kids in FCPS and their families? |
Thanks for posting this-more objective evidence finally about what is being said. Everyone should read before they comment further. |
Seriously that is ridiculous. Like there are only 5 people who share these opinions (on either side)? Come on. There are outspoken people with these opinions, then there are hundreds who may not be actively involved and advocating, but feel similarly and could easily be posting here. These sentiments are not that unique. |
