Yeah, really. As a "fuck up" she seems to have incredible good luck. Also it seems that every man who meets her wants her. She's pretty annoying.

And who is paying for Berkeley?

Yup. I hate when shows just gloss over this. The reality is she would either have to be getting a full scholarship or she wouldn't be going. Work studying would not cover it. Her mom is a part-time photographer, FFS.

No, Amber's not in school, the boy is (Drew). I agree with the rest of what you said. Amber works at the Luncheonette, Crosby and Adam's studio.

I think the Joel thing is more than just the kissing. He is mad she didn't want to adopt Victor, mad she quit her job, (was she fired really?), mad about Victor being held back, and mad that they don't talk about anything. Also, it is possible he has feelings for Pete.

She is much more of a ballbreaker than Julia ever was.

Drew's the one at Berkley.

It's a state school, and gives pretty substantial grant aid to low income instate students. With a part time job and Federal student loans, it's one of the more realistic options for a kid with high enough stats to get in.

Joel turned his back on Julia a long time ago, he wouldn't talk to her and gave her the cold shoulder before any of this happened with the other dad. I think he wanted out of the marriage and here's his excuse, his way to blame it all on Julia. Otherwise, he'd be willing to at least try counseling.

There doesnt seem to be an end game here and he doesnt even want to try. I think its terrible and would be really sad if a marriage really broke up like this with no development or therapy or discussion.

I've been a fan since Season 1 - Joel was the long suffering stay at home dad while Julia worked and worked to make partner. When Joe wanted to work part time on some small jobs, Julia was not supportive initially. As I recall, Julia messed up on a big case and decided to quit first and tell Joel later. She took him for granted for a long time and became jealous when he became the breadwinner. Then finally Joel has a successful business and a huge client and Julia shows up accusing him of having an affair in front of said big client. Julia disagrees with Joel on Victor's education and SHE opens the door by commiserating with Ed...The kiss with Ed was the final straw....Joel had all he could stand and he couldn't take it anymore. Their marriage was falling apart the whole time due Julia's selfishness and Joel's quiet resentment, which finally was revealed this season.

I love Kristina Braverman - she is fearless - before and after cancer. I love her hot relationship with her husband (funkytown) and how he supports her no matter what. Kristina portrays mom's with kids on the autism spectrum so realistically. I love the twist with Hank having Asperger's!

The writing on the show is awesome! Some have criticized Sarah's story line, but I know lots of folks that change careers and try to find themselves in their 40's - and both of her kids are grown, so why not be a building super and a photographer.

Lastly, any real Parenthood fan knows that all of the storylines are tied up by the end of each season because the writers never know if the show wiil be renewed and respect the audience too much to leave fans wondering what happened. Each season ending is written like a series finale.

I can buy that Joel and Julia have big problems. The creator mentioned that they always swept a lot of their issues under the rug. I can also buy that Joel would be reluctant to do counseling. But not talking at all? Leaving his family? No way. It's ridiculous. Regardless of the rug sweeping, there was a lot of love and friendship there.

I think they'll get back together. That will be the stupid end of season tearjerker. Only nobody will be crying, because the storyline is so stupid.

I've never been so mad at a fake person (Joel). I too almost started this thread, too.

+1. I find a lot of the storylines somewhat unrealistic, but this one works for me given his character. Personally, I am very pissed at Joel and feel very sad for Julia.

Joel did talk, he listened to Julia all season and was annoyed most of the time...he asked Julia point blank what happened with her and Ed and she lied. Also, Joel did go to counseling with Julia- to figure out how to break the news to the kids. Joel was tired of going along to get along, getting his opinions dismissed...it was too little too late...the wall Joel was putting up was completed when Julia kissed and told....

I really hate Bonnie Bedelia's new face. She was beautiful before and looks too plasticky now for her character.

Having a hard time believing the Joel/Julia split. They missed an episode of them in therapy or something.

Otherwise, love love the show.

Kristina's gonna start a new school now? Really? Getting tired of her and her plasticky face.

Did you all know Bonnie Bedelia is Mac Calkin's aunt?!

He's such a family man, and I believe that characteristic would override his ego. I get mad at my husband sometimes, but there's this little person who depends on me, and because of that, we talk when I don't always feel like it. That's why I hate him. To not even try, just makes him a terrible person. And the old Joel wasn't a terrible person.

Every marriage that ends in separation did not go through the obligatory counseling.
