Are non-white Christmas lights trashy?

Personally I like multicolored lights.
I think one color is boring. I like the look of different colors flashing on and off. |

| I like multi colored lights on the tree. I only use white lights decorating mantles and outdoors though. My mom used only white on our tree and I thought it was boring. I decided to try the multis one yr as an experiment and the kids loved em so they stayed! |

Our kids wanted them. A few years back I out them around the portico columns and it looked like a whore house. I recoiled, pulled them down immediately and exchanged for white.
A neighbor has them on bushes and they don't look bad. My mom used to have a ' kid tree' with colored lights and our creations and a tree for the living room which was more formal. My boys don't mind our white lights thankfully. I prefer them, but do like variety in the neighborhood--different colors , styles, etc. |
