I've been told that any other color besides white and you might as well be living in a double wide in Alabama.

| Whoever told you that is a giant snob. |
| No. |

Not according to everyone.

No. They're pretty and fun.
|
| I think white or color are OK, as long as the bulbs are small, non-blinking, and not distributed in a haphazard way. |
|
I dislike the icicle lights, but that's just because they aren't put on very straight normally.
Multicolored are fine in my book. |
| The article is pretty funny and so true! Back in the 80s and early 90s you showed your Martha Stewart class with the all white look. Then it went viral and now it is everywhere. So tired at this point. Go ahead, have some fun -- use colored lights. |
| Yes. What's also trashy: not using an extension cord so the beginning of the light string starts at the outlet before it gets to the bush, tree or railing. Not having enough lights so that the string ends in a random place on a tree. Using different kinds of lights in close proximity to each other (so a set of big bulb lights in one color scheme next to mini lights in another color scheme, or worse, stringing them all together). |

White = boring
Do what you want. Even the crazy mess is fun. We try to analyze you by your display. ENTERTAIN US! |
| I prefer white lights, but other lights are fine. It's actually nice to see some variety. As long as you don't leave your lights up till President's Day or something, who cares? |
|
Yes. Pure trailer park trash.

I only use white lights on the front of my house because they look really pretty with my other decorations. The back yard is a totally different story. We back up to the water and I decorate our lanai and little boat dock with colored lights. We have twinkling colored lights on the palm trees and little floaty lights in the pool. The back yard is all about fun! (Obviously we aren't in D.C. right now)
I love the way colored lights look on some houses. But ours is the typical Florida stucco home and white lights with wreaths just works better. |
| I think colored lights are cheerful and fun. My parents always used colored lights on their house when we were growing up, and I use them on my tree now. |
| they are back and all the rage now. |
