What to do if you suspect that a teacher is racist?

I can't believe that one of the most liberal counties in one of the most liberal states in the country has such a large element of racism within its schools. However, people deny that racism is a problem with "some" MCPS administrators and teachers.

You haven't figured it out yet? Progressivism = Racism.

Don't believe me? Study up on its roots, focus on still Progressive hero Margaret Sanger if you like. Or 2nd Generation LBJ...

Exactly.

That's now how defamation works. The case would be dismissed as parents are entitled to their own opinions and can raise these issues privately. If they did it in a public forum like getting up in front of the PTA and giving a speech about a racist teacher well that might be an issue unless they could prove to the judge she is racist. If it's the truth, it's not defamation.

True. Good luck proving that, especially if the kid/s in question displaywd substandard behavior.

Everyone always asks "which teacher does your child have" and its normal conversation to then share who your child had at that age and what you thought. I feel very awkward now when anyone says that they have Mrs X.

At our school, people have definitely spoken with the school counselor, and some have gone to the principal. The teacher in question is apparently very sweet and charming when speaking with parents, but is a screaming lunatic with the kids.
I would never allow my child to be in that class. Being subjected to that even if it's not directed at your child is extremely damaging.

This sounds just like one of my DC's classes. Brown kids are miserable, white kids and their parents are collecting end of the year gift money for the teacher.

I could not get my DC out of the classroom, and I could not get my DC out of the school with a COSA form. We are moving. Bye.

My DC's preschool teacher was accused of racist and fired from her job. She was not the sweetest person on earth but she managed her class well, encoraged kids to read, had a small garden with flowers and herb for the kids to explore. There were a lot of colored kids in her class but two boys were particularly active. She always kept the two boys next to her and made sure they didnt bother other kids or running loose. There were no incidence of the boys hurt themselves ot hurt others. Two year after my DC left, I heard there was an very aggressive girl in her class so she often needed to tell that girl to stop interrupt other kids. The girl mom was not happy so she complained and got the teacher fired.

That's the country we live in, sadly.

No wonder Trump and Sanders are taking over the BS establishment.

Some white girls are just out of control. Sorry to hear the teacher was fired because she had to deal with it.

You do realize you're talking about children, right? You're saying a child of one race is more likely to be agrees ice than another based solely on race?????

You didn't know children can be subject to stereotypes?

Take. The petition to the principal and demand this racist teacher be immediately terminated. If the principal fails to comply with your community supported demands your next step should be to take it to the School Board.

You have the evidence and the teacher will have an opportunity to prove they are not racist.

You are crazy, and if I still taught in DC, I would wonder if I knew you. Your child's teachers probably laugh at you a lot when they recount the crazy things you say, and finish up by talking about how much they pity your kid for having such a loon for a mother.

And you're ridiculous for thinking that it is outside the realm of possibility that a white child is aggressive.
