PP here. I was looking at the wrong numbers in your post. So assuming 22.5 minutes from metro to home. He's saving 7.5 minutes and adding 45 minutes of driving time for you. Heck no!!

This sums it up nicely. And why in the world would a parent want to make their child spend an unnecessary 45 minutes in the car? That's pretty crappy.

I wouldn't.

He can walk. I'd pick him up if it were raining or he was sick, otherwise, wtf would he even take the bus? That walk should take less time than the bus.

I loathe strapping my kid into the car for anymore time than absolutely essential.

Do you work? If not, then got pick him the fuck up. Riding in a car, then on the metro is better any day.

I think your DH is being selfish. He wants 2 people to spend 45 minutes in the car so he doesn't have to spend 30 minutes on the bus?

Pretty much this. "Honey, just hop on the bus, and then I can have dinner waiting when you get home."

Not with the kid in the car.
