We were visiting a family friend over the weekend. He went to Harvard and his kid actually goes to Ole Miss. (must not have taken after dad). Anyway, they live in the north and he said his dd liked it at Ole Miss. He said it was really affordable. I can't understand how a yankee would/could like it down there.

Very easy to get in. As long as you have a 2.7 and at least a 1400 SAT, you're set. Not the best college around (like most oh, so, elite SEC schools).

Psst- The University has a very diverse student population and has received numerous national awards for its work in race relations.
