I like it a lot.
Lillian is a VERY girly name, and the James balances it out. And I would if anything "assume" that it was a family name, or a maiden name of mom or something. Either way, i'ts fine. |
| Love it. Middle names definitely do not need to be girly - what's the point, if she uses her first name? I feel like middle names are perfect for honoring a relative or preserving a mother's maiden name. |
| I like it. My DD is a Lily (tho' not Lillian); she's turning 16 and seems quite happy with her name. All 3 of our kids have family names as middle names; I think they enjoy having that connection. |

prefer Lilly to Lillian.
Either middle name is fine. |
My daughter's middle name is James so obviously I think it's just fine
Ron Livingston, one of my favorites, just named his daughter Grace James. |
This. I love it. And it definitely not redneck. Not even a little bit. |
PP, we agree on names and Ron Livingston's hotness; I think this is could be the start of a beautiful friendship. (You do love "Casablanca" too, right?) |
| I like it. It sounds like the name of a Vaudeville star. |
| It is lovely. James is nice as a middle -- sounds like you are honoring someone from your family or it is a maiden name. |

When I think of James for a girl I think of the supermodel James King (her real name is Jaime but she goes by her nickname). So maybe it does not apply to you. But I do think of it as a possible but unusual girl name.
BTW, I posted already saying I like it - just wanted to add that. |
| I know a Sadie James, she's 1yr |
This is what I thought as well when making my decision. We decided to go with middle name James to honor my late father, but I figure others might use it if it was their maiden name. |
| Lillian James - gorgeous! |
|
I actually know a Lillian James! They call her Lilly. The James honor her late grandfather, who actually died when her mom was in high school.
Lovely name, lovely reason, go for it. |
