| 1-2%. We travel 3-5x/yr. 2-3x are to see family (they live in vacationy places) so our only expenses are 4 plane tickets. |
I can understand this and I like to travel. I had "stomach problems" for 2 years and the thought of travel was stressful. Always worried about eating out and running to a bathroom. |
| A little under 1% of our gross income. |
Just curious -- what percentage of you HHI in that? For us it would be like 30% of what we make in a year, so that's obviously a no go. On the other hand, it sounds reasonable if your HHI is 400-500k, especially if you don't have any kids. |
|
$50k is about 5 percent so not really much of HHI

It's not a real vacation if you don't fly there. |
| Spend all our money on private school and mortgage but would like to change that. Really, really want to take a vacation. We also have debt that we need to pay off and we need to save for college and retirement and make repairs on our house. Not sure if vacation is in our future. |
| Just spent roughly 5K for two weeks in Europe. Will try to do another one-week getaway to some place warm in the dead of winter. That'll probably be another 3K. That adds up to about 3.5% of the gross. |
|
2 weeks in Caribbean Home: 2x a year - $2000
15 weekends a year at Mountain Home - $1000 2 weeks vacation elsewhere - $8000 -------------------------------------------- 4.5% of gross |
|
ours is around 5 - 10% of gross depending on the year or around $20k-30k. soon to cut drastically...expecting our first.
|
Money aside we don't have enough vacation time to do that, so I'm jealous just of your free time! |
