Vacation budget

What is your vacation budget as a percent of your income?
We spend 4% of our pretax income on vacations. Seems low.
What about you?

This year is high since we're getting married and doing a minimoon and a bigger honeymoon to Fiji... so we're at about 15% of our post-tax, but this year is an anomaly. Usually around 4-5% max.

Fiji sound amazing.

It really varies. Usually somewhere between 2% and 6% and "averages" 3%.

Oh, like "minimoon". Stop the eye rolling! Are you in third grade?

Taveuni garden island resort. $1,000 or so a night, but well worth it.

Less than one percent. My husband doesn't like to go on vacation.

Yup.

We spend probably 5-10% of our HHI on vacations.

Original honeymooning poster here. We're headed to Namale. All paid for and booked. Very excited. And the minimoon is so we don't just get married and get back to work. Certain commitments keep us in town right afterwards but we still want to enjoy a few days to ourselves at a VA inn.
