That would be a dealbreaker.

I wouldn't have married him. Actually, wouldn't have gotten past the first date.

You discuss whether or not you like vacations on a first date?

Well, I would probably say I love to travel within the first five minutes. If the response was "eew" that would be it.

We just went on an eastern european trip with kids and spent $8K - it was totally worth it. Our kids are olders - elem and middle school.

So it would be a deal breaker for you! I developed a desire to travel more as my work travel slowed down. We do vacation, but not far away and not by plane.

I'm going to be close to 6% this year. It is a lot, but I prioritize travel.

Usually about 10%, but for the next year: $0. Tuition for oldest DD is gonna kick our ass.

Knowing I won't be able to travel for at least a year is seriously bumming me out.

Less than .5%. Three kids in private school and maxing out the 401k.

I totally need a vacation at LEAST once a year.
2-3 is ideal.

NP here. I let go of an otherwise perfect guy because I was turned off that he did not like to travel. DH and I traveled a lot before we had kids. Now he thinks travel with the children are such a hassle.

We spend about $20k per year on vacations or 5% of our income.

Travel with kids gets easier.

This I can't wait for. Our dd is two and we spend maybe 5-8k a year now.

Less than 1%. That will definitely go higher as the kids get older and we can take them to more exotic locales that don't have "kid friendly" as their primary draw.

What budget?

Sigh.

We spend about 20k on a 500k HHI. We take lots of vacations and love to travel and have taken the kids all over the world but we don't stay at the Ritz or anything like that

5%. We take 3 vacations a year, so we are always somewhat cheap for our income bracket.

Usually around $50k per annum. No kids and we like to travel first class.
