Do you know how she got the today gig? While NBC did not pay George W for his post-presidency interview, W made sure they offered Jenna Bush her Today Show gig.

and then they married her off to someone rich and well connected

Do you even think before you type. Offensive.

too close to home?

She says "Im-poor-dent" instead of "important." Drives me nuts! I just mute it when she's on now because every story she does seems to be IMPOORDENT! But they are just puff pieces.

She's cute, but reads a teleprompter like her Dad. Hopefully she'll get better over time.

Jenna Bush SUCKS. BAD. She speaks English about as well as George Bush Jr. (unsure, loudly, awkwardly), and just ENOUGH with the Bush nepotism, already. F**k Jenna and Billy Bush, too. They deserve to be seen by 20 people on some public-access station.

Kind of like Obama, too, though at least his pronunciation is better.

I really like her most recent piece with the teens. She was ably to relate to them. She looked very comfortable and asked questions in a way they responded to. I think she's great for that type of show - it's morning entertainment. Also, it's not like she's working the news desk. If Carson Daily can work there, so can Jenna Bush.

Oof. I don't usually watch daytime tv, but I caught 5 minutes of the show she was co-hosting this morning. I had been excited to watch a little of the show, and when I saw that she was trusted with co-hosting I thought, "wow- she must have a better tv presence than I would have guessed." But it was painful to watch. She wanted to force hilarity where there was none, talked over her co-hosts and frequently tripped over her words. When Al Roker was doing a solo presentation you could hear her blabbing away in the background. I had to turn the tv off.

I hated, HATED George Bush. But I really like Jenna Bush Hager. She seems really sincere.

first of all, you didn't even bother to read the rest of the thread.

second of all, how do you know she had plastic surgery? Just because she went from awkward teen with braces to decent looking young woman? Prove your plastic surgery assertion

I watched a little of her co-hosting this am, and it was pretty painful. I want her to do well.....and despite rooting for her.....it was just bad. As another poster said, talking over people, too loud, awkward with the other hosts. Yikes. I hope someone close to her can give her some constructive feedback.

I like her and I don't think she's that bad.

Where were you for the Bush administration?

Reminds me of the segments I used to do for the college tv station. Her level of talent is the same, but her name and the network means she gets better interview subjects.

+1

Obama has a certain cadence to his speech that I think people mistake for/make into (mostly depends on your political leanings) "not able to read teleprompter"

But I always point to his visit to the Republican retreat as evidence that he is entirely capable of speaking off the cuff without use of a telepromper...rather intelligently.

I dare Dubya to try the same thing. Go ahead, please just picture the hilarity that would have come from a similar "into the lion's den" event.
