If you already know your giving up a slot at a "hot" DCPS post here and why

Please, people. Ignore the troll. YY is ultra-super scrupulous about honoring the process and the law. I suspect the troll is upset because a) they were fired from YY b) they or their relative did not get hired for YY c) they were removed from YY because they lived were not DC residents or d) because they never got in and now have a major axe to grind. sigh.

Plus maybe not all parents care if their kids can read to learn, you know? There are other things in life.

We got a PK4 spot at SWS, which we are giving up. Staying at current charter or hoping for language immersion.

Bridges. Ultimately, it's more convenient, and although I love Reggio Emilia, I don't think it would be worth the change. We're pretty happy where we are, just did the lottery to keep options open.

There will be spots in PK4 in Marie Reed. We are there now (PS3) and I know of at least 3 other families leaving.

Why are you guys leaving Marie Reed? And if you don't mind saying, which schools are drawing you away?

I'm not 'you can quote me' PP. I'm the one who will give up the seat at Murch.

wow, I was really hopeful when I read your first message, since our child is on the wailist at Murch for pre-k. but now I know you are a fake. there is obviously no "relationships" that can give you a spot at a highly coveted charter like YY. and even in the event there was, nobody would be so foolish to go to DCUM and brag about it. sigh. I just hope at this point you made up even being on the Murch waitlist............

ps

for the future, to be a troll, you need a basic level of intelligence or you are going to be busted

Seriously. "There are relationships." That is such a ridiculous thing to say, as if if it were true you'd be outing it here. Aside from feeling sorry for the Murch hopefuls you just disappointed, I do kinda like the whole mystery of "There are relationships.". I think I'm going to adopt that as my "phrase of the week" at work, and whenever someone asks me to explain something complex, I'll lower my voice, look side to side as if I'm speaking confidentially, and say in a low voice "It's more complicated than that. There are relationships."

Hahahahaha!

Thanks for outing the troll....poor YY has more than its fair share of them.

Already gave up prek at Janney. We thought there might be a change at our Montessori school, but it looks like all is well so we don't need it afterall. Already called the school and withdrew our name.

No, it really is "read ... [in order to] learn." When you're little, you "learn to read" in PS-2nd. At ~ 3rd grade, most schools' curricula would have you "read to learn."

Apologies if this is terribly confusing.
