It probably has something to do with her amazing arms. Are you an ass?

No, but if you think it doesn't make her look like a tranny, you're blinded.

No, I'm just not a sexist, racist, asshole like you are.

I think you'd probably like me. Lots of people do. But look at her. She's just not pretty. Big deal. She's the First Lady and rich. But does that mean I have to suspend judgment as to her looks? Do you follow current trends in what is considered generally attractive in any race? She's not. It's ok! You can deal.

No, I definitely would not like you at all. Your statements reveal a weak mind and flawed character.

I think she is beautiful and a style icon. I admire pretty much everything about her. The majority of the country agrees with me, not you. I know that gets you all cranky, but it is the truth. Even if you say these things until you are blue in the face, they will never be true.

Seriously, there is nothing that this woman can do right in your eyes and so it's really not worth having a discussion about this - instead I'll point out the obvious thing that gets your panties in a twist every time you see her and her family. The vast majority of Americans love her, think she's a great role model, and are very proud to have her as our First Lady. Further, even many people who don't agree with President Obama politically still like him as a person. This makes you so mad you want to scream. So you desperately grasp for anything, no matter how microscopic, that you can relentlessly twist and mischaracterize into something you can frame as a negative regarding the first family. You puff up your chest and bloviate on how OUTRAGED you are, you use words of the extreme (UNPRECEDENTED! SHAMEFUL! DISGUSTED! ABSOLUTE ARROGANCE!), and troll the web posting things in the hope that you can convince other people to view the world the way you do. In the end, you aren't changing any minds and you just look desperate. And that makes sense because you are desperate. I'm not sure what your reason for the hatred is although there are a few things that come to mind as possibilities. But I guess I don't really care why you are a hater. What I really care about is that you are in the minority, people love the Obama's, and no amount of stamping your feet and throwing little Rumplestiltskin tantrums will change that - sorry, but YOU LOSE!

How can someone like him as a person if they don't personally know him?

Don't be so obtuse. You know that what I meant is that they think he seems like a nice, caring person, that he is a good father and husband, and that they think he seems likable as a person, even if they don't agree with him politically. Maybe your confused because you are one of the types that only surround yourself with bobble heads that agree with you.

His voting policies tell me personally that he's not a nice caring person. .

So what you're saying is since the PP doesn't find the first lady attractive, he/she must be (a) racist (b) flawed (c) weak minded. I don't feel she's attractive either. That's my opinion. Is your liberal self saying that we are not entitled to our own opinions? What happened to open-mindedness?

Many, many people I know believe the Obama's have lost their luster. Even the most hardcore liberals I know.

Liberals may be disappointed that the president hasn't been liberal enough for their taste, but I haven't heard a single liberal express anything negative about the role Michele Obama has taken as a wife, mother, person, or First Lady. And the OP is complaining about Mrs. Obama, not The President.

Too bad you missed my friend's post on FB about vacation costs.

The most popular woman in the world is on the cover of Vogue? And other magazines, too? That's sooooooo crazy, OP!

No, anyone can be critical of someone's looks. She's saying the specific way that the pp describes Michelle Obama is racist.

Yes, this was part of it. In addition, what makes me think this person has a serious character flaw is the way she/he frames their statements. "She's just not pretty" instead of "I don't think she's pretty" or "she isn't pretty to me". This person thinks that their opinion substitutes for fact, when it is simply an opinion (and a pretty biased one at that). So I'm not saying either PP that doesn't find her attractive is not entitled to their opinion, but I do find the PP that states "she's just not pretty" to be narcissistic, and certainly one dimensional. Both of these things are major character flaws in my opinion.

I'd also like to note that I cannot EVER recall any discussions regarding the "attractiveness" of Laura Bush, or Barbara Bush. But I certainly recall plenty of nasty, junior high school remarks regarding Hilary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton (a child), and now Michele Obama. Which begs the question, which group of people overall tend to behave more immaturely and badly regarding this objectification of women (basing their beauty and worth solely on their looks vs. inner beauty, actual actions in life, etc.). Michele Obama is a success story by any measure. I cannot think of anyone else more worthy (although many are certainly as worthy) of being a role model for all women.

NP here: I don't think she is pretty but I do think she looks very good - lover her body, love her style and I really admire her intelligence, demeanor, accomplishments. I do think she is a great role model.

But no, I don't think she is "pretty." (I don't thinks he is ugly either, just average). Same thing re her youngest daughter, but I think Malia is turning into a gorgeous young lady.

Get off the talking points. The Bush women were hammered. Do a google search. Sheesh!

I'm sorry, but I don't see Ms. Obama as a success story. Some of the comments she has made are unbefitting of a First Lady. She has a huge chip on her shoulder as well. I don't consider her a role model for me or my daughter because she doesn't embody the values I have or want my daughter to have. Furthermore, I don't understand this whole 'objectification of women' attitude. I see many accomplished women in all walks of life. The ones screaming objectification I see as character-flawed. I've never been held back in life because I am a woman. I simply set goals, went for them, and any lack of accomplishment I can trace back to my own actions, which I then either correct or adjust.

If there is anyone holding women back, it's other women.

Exactly. You express it much better than I do. I think I'm even more a fan of Michelle than I am of her husband. Hilary Clinton & Michelle Obama for the next election!

So she was the child of a water plant employee and a secretary, went to Princeton and graduated cum laude, then to Harvard Law School and to Sidley Austin. That's a success story by anyone's measure. Then she worked for Chicago's city government, became a Dean at University of Chicago, and then as an executive director for the University of Chicago Hospital system, where she earned $273K in 2006. She then became the first African American First Lady in the country's history and now has a popularity rating of 65% according to a recent poll.

Do tell -- what aspects of her story you think show she hasn't been successful? That she's made some "unbefitting" comments? Seriously? Point to one public figure who's never said anything controversial. Chip on her shoulder? Even if that were true, it certainly can't take away from her success.

And what values does she embrace that you don't? Do tell.
