Yes. Both this year and next.

Not sure this matches what I heard at the open house. It sounded like the would be operating this coming year in only a portion of their space, so at least would not be expanding pk. Is that right?

They will open in the new space next year, which will have much more space than they currently have, and it will be a big expansion year. Then they will build another building on the same property that they are moving to next year, which will then house even more students, thus creating another big expansion year.

What kind of music and art programs do they have? We visited and didnt see any evidence really of either

Any current families worried that they are expanding too quickly?

There is a music and art teacher. Students do this as part of the Specials program. My child also did Photography in addition to traditional art. Usually the art is on display throughout the building. Surprised you didn't see any evidence if you visited the building?!

I do but financially they have no choice. If the school is to survive and maintain a viable space they have to expand. So far the admins have handled it well in my opinion but I do worry that this move and expansion will strain the admins.

The school will be huge within a matter of years - 409 for next year and about 550 when they add in 4th and 5th in the next two years. 4 classes per grade from 1-5. That's a lot!

^^that's total normal for an ES.

What kind of/variety of music is offered? We saw no musical instruments or music area; perhaps because its so cramped. Yes, some basic artwork on the walls, but mainly the walls were papered with work/words/phrases/lessons.

I asked this another thread but got no response. Does anyone know how often and for how long recess is offered? Thanks

Yeah, but its big for a charter. LAMB and Stokes are both significantly smaller
Anonymous
That's bigger than Bancroft!

I am having serious buyers remorse after enrolling on Sat... it doesn't sound that big to me, but it is significantly bigger than our current school, and i just wonder if the admin can handle it?

Yes, MV will be around 585 total after 4th and 5th are added

The new facilities look great; we saw mockups on Saturday. While the surrounding neighborhood streets may be just meh, looks like they are planning some nice gardens and the interior looks really nice too. Big, spacious auditorium.

You can always withdraw your enrollment. I didn't realize that the school will be so big.
