Why is it ever a wasye of time to say you love your kids school and why you love it?

Saying why you love it is useful. Just saying it's the best, and using lots of exclamation points, doesn't strike me as useful.

The style may not have been what I'd have chosen, but op was extending an invitation to find out more about the school. Many will find this information useful.

Many will find it obnoxious when they waste their time only to discover that the chances are slim to none to get in. It'd been more helpful to say why the school is "great" and why the bullying debate was just that- a bunch of bull. No one cares about it and people would still take a slot at the school in a second. The boosterism is silly.

you are a hater, na-na-na-na-na!

And you are a mean and ugly troll! Too bad dcum is your playground. Find somewhere else to lurk. Real parents with real children would appreciate it!

I don't understand the complaints to this thread. There are a lot of people who work very hard to make Mundo Verde great, and I'm sure many of them are questioning the elves this week. Why in the world would it be bad to be supportive?

Another troll bringing up how "unserious" things are when they're called out. If it "wasn't that serious", you wouldn't have run kicking and screaming to boost the school on dcum when the bullying bs got started. Seems like you're red-faced and angry. The rest of us are parents with kids looking for helpful info. on the school situation. We would rather not have our time wasted by troll boosters cloggin up the site with an unrealistic picture of a kid's chance to get in the school. Get a life Mundo Verde Parent / Troll. Seems like it's not just the parents that were protesting at the school aren't the only loons out there! Geez!

A few reason why MV IS THE BEST:

1) Full immersion for pre-K 3 AND pre-K 3
2) NATIVE Spanish speakers from various countries throughout the world.
3) NOT ONLY is this a full immersion school, the SECOND focus of the school is the ENVIRONMENT! The school is making these children vary aware of the envirnmont and the world they live in.
4) ACTIVE parent/family involvement - it's almost hard to keep up with all of the committees, meetings and CLASSES For the PARENTS.
5) TRUE DIVERSITY - people from all over the globe attend MV!
6) STRICT NO JUNK FOOD POLICY - the school provides FREE organic or nutricious breakfast for all; the other meals are just as great provided by REVOLUTION foods!
7) YOGA classes for ALL
8) ART classes for all
9) MUSIC classes for all
10) SMILING FACES from all MV staff - it is really amazing. Either they are smiling from ear to ear or they are hard at work - I have never seen such hard working teachers and staff.
....HERE IS MY TOP TEN LIST - WELL, PERHAPS NOT THE TOP TEN, BUT THE FIRST THAT CAME TO MY MIND....I COULD GO ON AND ON!

THANK YOU MUNDO VERDE - WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pay no mind, it's the jealous and angry haters from "the establishment".

Interesting that none of the top 10 include typical academic subjects.

did you just say the same thing twice?

Anonymous wrote: - the school provides FREE organic or nutricious breakfast for all

I hate to break it to you - this is DC law - and occcurs in every DC Public School

Anonymous wrote: 8) ART classes for all 9) MUSIC classes for all

How is this different from most other schools in DC?

Too many exclamation marks make me suspicious.

other than environment, not seeing a whole lot of difference with some of the other bilingual preschool and pre k. Not bashing MV, just saying on paper several programs could claim the same or very similar things.

Anyone have an apples to apples comparison with other bilingual schools?

You won't find much by way of real comparisons from these boosters. They tend to retreat when posed with legitimate inquiry. Their whole point is to boost and run, and, oh, call people "haters" who challenge their wasting people's time with their unhelpful / trollish rants. Shame, really. Between that and angry parents weirdly protesting, makes normal folks question what's up with the school. Between all of the yoga and free breakfast, I hope there's some halfway decent parents with half a brain over there. Also, for those that don't know, there's been complaints from parents about how legit the Spanish immersion is. An American college grad. who studied a little Spanish hardly qualifies as someone to teach the language.

20:02 here,

You are still a hater, and no, I am not even a MV parent. Why would you choose to take over a thread that aims to boost a school? If you hate it so very much, create your own Mundo Verde Hate-filled thread. Find something productive to do with your time in the new year, it will do your spirit good.

A little cat calling the kettle, eh?!... But actually hater/liar would be a better title for you. "Not even a MV parent"... Yeah right! Got a little suggestion for your spirit in the new year: Get One!! You boosters who feign non-bias and act nonchalant and detached while your white knuckles slam the keyboard as you angrily attack are getting so old on here. You all really do the school a disservice. Helicopter booster trolls do not make the school appealing. Desperate- yes!

And yet, you keep coming back to the thread with your vitriol. You are a wanna-be that clearly can't be a part of the school and that eats you up. Bow out gracefully.
