Dear Mr. President

That's nice. I don't have a husband so if anybody gets the sniffles it's all me.
But nice of you to let the world know where your husbands works. That with your IP address is really informative

Looks like it's not gonna happen. Perhaps 2 or 4 hours early leave?

Nothing - wish away. I often wish I would win Powerball. But it's the "we deserve it because of blah, blah, blah" that gets irritating.

So does the fed bashing. That gets irritating too.

I'm a fed and I find these type of posts massively irritating. I get why non-Feds would too. Between my accrued leave and our regular holidays I get over 30 days of leave a year. That's a lot by any standard. So when I see these posts, it makes me cringe. OP should do what a lot of us do: use leave and take the day off. Just makes us look like spoiled entitled brats and confirms the worst assumptions people have about Feds, especially given that some people are grateful to have jobs.

Op here. I make at least 40 k less than I would in private sector. My wages have been frozen. A day off would be a nice thank you or acknowledgement. And it could only boost the retail numbers.
. your thank you is the opportunity to serve. fwiw, i am a fed who coukd be earning a lot more in the private sector too. it is feds like you who make us all look bad. the american people don't owe us the 24th off so we can go spend money ar the mall, being waited on by people who probably deserve the time off more than we do.

My DH is also a fed (also hasn't had a raise in 2 years, etc) , and we know many other fed employees. They are hardworking, smart and dedicated. But I know that many people have the perception that fed workers are lazy, entitled and incompetent. All this whining about wanting or deserving off on Christmas Eve (and the god-awful petition started on the White House website) just feeds that stereotype. He earns plenty of leave. He'll be working on 12/24.

I am a fed too. I am using leave. The pay freeze/scapegoat thing isn't great. However, If the President is going to address anything this week, I'd rather he give Congress a whipping to get them into action to address gun control.

Be thankful you have a job. Lots of unemployed people in the private sector without the job security of a federal worker. BTW, their wages weren't frozen they were eliminated or reduced.

The Unemployment Rate is still unacceptable and your statement is a poor analogy. Many
Feds bust our butts. I for one help keep this country safe - 365. Yes even at 2 am like Santa we are there still working.

So all the Feds that felt we should not have the day off by all means go to work Monday and don't claim holiday pay.

Better yet close some agencies entirely. That will reduce the debt.

Bingo. Too much duplicity.
