Wasn't that on K Street around 20th or 21st? And it has now closed. |

The Prime Rib? Oceanaire is a chain. Old Ebbitt and 1789 are both owned by Clyde's, and there is nothing particularly magical about their food. Georgia Brown's and Vidalia have gone down hill, and so much else has closed.
I didn't know Sam and Harry's closed. That's too bad. C.F. Folks and the Well Dressed Burrito are worth it. |
| Mama Ayesha's. |
Didn't that open around 2000? To me that's practically a new restaurant! |
Remember Fish Wings and Tings? Hank's? |
| Is El Tamerindo still around? |
Oops, I actually meant Dan's. I think it was called Dan's Cafe, but it was really just a hard core drinker's bar. See. I obviously spent too many brain cells there. |
And what was Roberto Donna's restaurant where you could get all you eat pasta for $10 or something? I think Komi is in that space now.... Little Fountain is pretty good too... |
| Don Juan's in Mount Pleasant. Was there in 1994 when I moved here; it's still there. Although now it's populated by hipsters as well as just arrived here Latinos. And the waitresses still only speak Spanish. But that's okay by me! |
Yup, still there. |
This was actually called "Calvert Cafe", but since everyone called it Mama Ayesha's, they eventually officially changed its name. |
I Matti? |

Booeymongers at least meets the first part of the criteria. I haven't been there in ages so don't know if it is still good.

Tom Sietsma (or someone) did an article about about why restaurants in our area don't do well in the long run
I'll see if I can find it, it was very interesting |
