Perhaps. But he'll have to beat out a group of other appealing candidates (Christie, Rubio, probably others). Question is, will this loss taint him so much that he can't recover? Would it be better for him to cash out, as one PP said, as the "losing" VP candidate, write books, go on lecture circuit, etc.? Granted, we're just three days into this, but so far, campaigning doesn't seem to be his thing. Really? I like her, but I don't think she could have done any better.

She has single-handedly renewed our relationship with the world, so I'm very glad she's been at State. As POTUS, I think she would have taken a harder line with Congress in passing economic recovery measures, but I also think the Tea Party would not have been as much a factor, since I firmly believe they're mainly a reaction to the First Black President.

If all things remain generally the same, I think Obama will eke out a victory (no landslide, by any means). However, so much is out of any one person's or campaign's control - if other countries in Europe crater in September/October, for instance, with significant (or even marginal) spillover effects in the US, it's a game-changer.

It's also worth remembering that at least point that is not heavily talked about today likely will become a significant issue in the election. No way to tell what that is, or whom it will favor.

Oh, please, that's not what I meant was "funny." Obviously, you didn't read the entire article, about how Ryan's jokes from the stage completely flopped. Milbank, as usual, did a masterful job at reporting it all, and that is what I meant was "funny." Lighten up, PP. Also, the number of Baby Boomers who are about to retire or have just recently retired and moved down to Florida is growing steadily.

I think selecting Ryan essentially gave away Florida. While many seniors and Floridians agree philosophically with the Republican party and ticket, many of them cannot afford to vote Republican now.
