| Love, Love, Love Sarah Richardson, Sarah's House, Sarah 101, Design Inc. Wish i I lived in Canada so I could watch old episodes online. |
| My mom and I have always loved House Hunters and HH International although they are getting kind of boring. The people on the shows have been watching too much HGTV themselves b/c they all have champagne tastes on a beer budget. |
there was one on the other day outside of charlotte where it was a 23 year old kid with his mom as the agent. They made me want to throw things at the TV. I always wonder on Property Brothers whether people actually know which show they are on beforehand. They always seem so angry about the dream home they can't afford. My husband wants to BE Mike Holmes. We actually looked into having him come to check out our 40+ year old home we purchased recently. We found some awful things while renovating the kitchen, and are terrified of what else we might find in the coming years. I love HGTV and it's sister network, DIY. Have you seen Renovation Realities? That show is awesome, especially when they injure themselves...or wind up sleeping on the couch! |
I forgot about Buy Me! That was my favorite for a while. Especially the creepy intro. |
I've always wondered if Mike Holmes or Candace Olson only work in Canada. |
| So many of the new shows are so cheesey. I like the idea of Love it or List it, but why do the hosts have to be so over the top annoying? |
You should browse the Television Without Pity forums. The "contractor" brother is apparently a magician, and one or both were underwear models. I don't think I can believe anything I see on HGTV anymore. |
ha, so true! I have to remember that avocado green appliances and blue tile bathrooms were the HEIGHT of fashion in the 60s. I actually still enjoy them today, via visits to the Museum of 1968 (aka my inlaws house). Go back in time farther and hardwood floors were a sign of being too poor to afford carpet! |

I am convinced the Real Estate lobby shut down REI. It was too much bad news (or, in my opinion, actual useful information). I get postcard mailers from Mike Aubry just like all the other realtors so he's still around...
#1 Sarah Richardson-- all of it. I love that she uses so much IKEA stuff and makes it look amazing #2 Mike Holmes-- reminds me of my dad
# 3Candice Olsen-- beautiful rooms, but gawd, she's so goofy sometimes #4 David Bromstad (when he was in SF. His stuff in Miami is not my taste but he's so charming!) #5 Income Property |

Since so many of us are sick of all the shows on HGTV - what WOULD we want to see?
Is there another real estate show that hasn't been thought of? What about a type of landscaping show. Lets think of something and get them to make it.

| I am completely obsessed with Selling New York. I LOVE it. Love the apartments (though 3 million gets you like nothing in NY) and all the brokers are awesome. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. |
link! link! |
| How about Selling _____________. Instead of NY, how about international cities like London. I still like HHI but I get bored of the same places. |
| question about HH and HHI... I from all these posts I'm coming to terms with the fact that the people on the shows have already closed on their properties, but how does it work when HGTV gets footage of them in their previous homes and the houses that they end up choosing (have already closed on) are empty when the walk through it? |
NP. I did a quick Google search and found this. http://www.realstylenetwork.com/blogs/celebrities/2011/01/interview-property-brothers-jonathan-and-drew-scott-fix-up-canada |
